In sixth (or trainee intern) year, attachments range from 4 to 12 weeks in duration. Throughout the years, a series of threads are run. These are based on the important learning themes and are mostly delivered during the time students spend on blocks. They represent areas which are integral to most areas of medical practice and which cannot (and should not) be separated e.g. ethics
