EligibilityThe applicant will:
ContentThe student will apply theoretical learning within his / her practice context. Students will use practice experience to develop new or refine existing nursing knowledge within the specialty of gerontology nursing practice. The programme develops clinical skill application and integrated knowledge at an advanced level in order to meet the competencies for advanced nursing practice (Nursing Council New Zealand, Framework for Post Registration Nursing Education, 2001). NURX 426 Nursing - Gerontology comprises a practicum based on the application of a classification of objectives; attitudes, personal and interpersonal skills, the application of knowledge, high level problem solving skills and technical competence.
