This course will be run in Christchurch and Dunedin
Convenors
Eligibility
The applicant will:
- Have registration as a nurse from a three year programme
or course, congruent with the HPCA Act 2003
- Hold a current Practising
Certificate
- Have access to a clinical supervisor for 50 hours. Each
student is required to identify a health professional working in their
clinical
area that has proven knowledge and skills in health assessment and
decision making relevant to their area of practice. The supervisor
needs to be willing to work in the role of a clinical supervisor and
to have relevant expertise to support the student, to commit at least
3 hours per week to the student, and to verify evidence of health assessment
skill achievement and knowledge in their clinical logs

internet and email access
Content
This paper will enable the RN to demonstrate health assessment knowledge
and skills to meet the competencies required for advancing nursing practice.
A period of mentored practice will facilitate the RN in integrated physical,
psychosocial assessment, and pathophysiology in own specialty practice.
NURX405 is based around the domains for Nurse Practitioner scope
(NCNZ, 2008)

- Interpersonal and interprofessional care and quality improvement
