Postgraduate Student Opportunities

Scenes from the labWELCOME to students! Students are a vital part of our group and we encourage postgraduate students to come and study with us.

A degree with us will establish a basis for your career in biomedical research, or cultivate research skills that will complement your future clinical practice or further study.

We have excellent facilities for students wishing to undertake Masters theses and PhD programmes in medical research through the University of Otago, including high-level training in research and laboratory techniques, career opportunities and travel support for national and international conferences.

There are a number of scholarships available for Masters and PhD degrees, including University of Otago postgraduate scholarships. We will be happy to discuss funding opportunities and other aspects of postgraduate study.

We provide opportunities for PhD study as well as Masters and BMedSci thesis subjects listed on the web pages of individual staff members.
