Pathology - Welcome
The department is actively involved in the teaching of pathology to 4th and 5th year medical students. Plans are underway to introduce a BBiomedSc (Hons) programme. The department has a steady inflow of postgraduate students doing studies at masters and PhD level. From 2009, the Christchurch campus will be offering a one-year honours programme, BBiomedSc (Hons), an excellent stepping-stone to PhD study. The Pathology Department's research activities are internationally renowned due to innovation on the part of staff and collaboration with local and international scientists. The
Department of Pathology is one of the largest departments in the University
of Otago, Christchurch. Our involvement in undergraduate
and postgraduate teaching combined with internationally renowned
research has seen the Department expanding in staff complement and areas
of focus.
