Boards - 2006/07 7 December 2007 Taking the Pulse of NZ Child and Youth Health Child and Youth Health Monitoring Reports released at the Paediatric Society of New Zealand Conference on November 2007 show that while injury and infant mortality rates have declined over the past decade and a half, there have been large increases in hospital admissions for some poverty related conditions (e.g. serious skin infections, bronchiolitis). Monitoring the Health of New Zealand Children and Young People WCRF/AICR Expert Report, Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective. Report issued by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) on the evidence linking cancer risk to diet, physical activity and weight. The result of a five-year process involving nine independent teams of scientists from around the world, hundreds of peer reviewers, and 21 international experts who reviewed and analyzed over 7,000 large-scale studies, the report includes 10 recommendations for cancer prevention.
